Mission
Midwest Healthy Ag is a farmer-initiated research project of Regeneration Midwest, a group of Midwest agricultural advocates dedicated to listening to farmers and farming communities about agriculture, the environment, climate, community and health. Our aim is to turn what is learned into community-led agriculture. Work is funded by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation.
Read our 2022 report, Across the Fence to learn about Midwest Healthy Ag, the listening project and what’s been learned so far. One important takeaway? Midwest agriculture isn’t divided into just two bins — “conventional” and “regenerative.” Across farms, counties and the region, agriculture is a continuum of practices and attitudes from which rural communities can draw strategies for moving their food systems to healthier practices that also pay the bills.
