Project
At Fishers & Farmers workshops, local watershed leaders come together in a professionally facilitated, interactive setting—not a lecture hall. These workshops are designed to spark real conversations. Participants hear new perspectives, ask meaningful questions, share stories of both success and struggle, and reflect on what matters most to them. Before heading home, each person identifies practical next steps to increase local involvement and put ideas into action.
Thanks to support from Fishers & Farmers, participants leave with more than just inspiration. They gain valuable communication and listening skills, learn how to navigate tough conversations, and explore a new way of learning—one rooted in invitation and inquiry rather than instruction. The workshops help local groups focus their efforts, stay organized, and work together toward shared goals.
Most importantly, these gatherings connect farmers, landowners, and community collaborators who are all working toward the same vision: thriving farms, healthy streams, and resilient communities across the Upper Mississippi River Basin.
