Fishers & Farmers Partnership for the Upper Mississippi River Basin is funding three projects in 2018 with some help from Driftless Area Restoration Effort (DARE).  Both of these fish habitat partnerships work under the National Fish Habitat Partnership and receive funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Projects include:

Boone River Watershed, IA
The Nature Conservancy, Iowa Soybean Association, Wright County SWCD

Tainter Creek Watershed, WI   (Joint project with DARE)
Tainter Creek Farmer Led Council, Trout Unlimited, Valley Stewardship Network, WI DNR, USDA

Rice Creek – Cannon River Watershed, MN (Joint project with DARE)
Cannon River Watershed Partnership, St. Olaf College, Rice County SWCD

Funded projects improve farms and fish habitat; address a root cause of watershed problems; support landowner engagement, communications, monitoring, science, or construction; and align with our Strategic Plan.  Fishers & Farmers thanks DARE for their collaboration on these great projects.

Applicants are non-government, county, state, and federal agriculture and natural resources organizations. One-to-one cost share is required. Applications are generally due in October and decisions are made in the last quarter of each year.  Visit our Funding page to learn more!
